Got any plans November 3rd? Well, you should, you sniveling peon.
However, next month Run The Jewels will team with Adult Swim for a special, first-ever performance of their latest album RTJ4 in its entirety. The performance will debut on the Cartoon Network late-night block October 10, and midnight EST, and will be available to watch on-demand on Youtube immediately after its completion.
Killer Mike and El-P‘s set will be Adult Swim’s first-ever concert broadcast (the network’s eponymous festival, due to the 2020 global pandemic, was virtual this year), which which aims to encourage voter turnout. “We’re proud to be a part of this initiative to encourage and enable voting and can’t wait to finally perform our album RTJ4,” Mike and Jaime said in a press release. “This will be fun.”
Sponsored by Ben & Jerry’s, the concert — dubbed Holy Calamavote — will air commercial-free.
“Young people are the single largest block of voters, and if they turn out at the same rate as their parents, they have the power to hold elected officials accountable on issues like policing and public safety, climate change, education, jobs and the economy,” Jabari Paul, U.S. activism manager at Ben & Jerry’s, said. That’s why we are proud that Run the Jewels is helping spread that word and we’re pleased to be working with Adult Swim to make this exciting night happen.”
