His formal follow-up to his 2017 album Jardín, Gabriel Garzón-Montano has released his second album Agüita. “Genre has never been a consideration,” Garzón-Montano says. “The idea of genre uses fear of failure as a baseline. Genre puts the music in a box. This album is anti-genre. Anti-fear. Anti-box.”

Whereas its predecessor was a blend of Latin-influenced alternative R&B, funk and soul, Agüita is more or less a combination of modern trap, rap, reggaeton, and R&B. The album is led by the singles “Bloom,” “Muñeca” and the title track.
