Despite receiving a considerable amount of criticism for it, Jay-Z’s partnership with the NFL has at the very least somewhat changed one of the league’s biggest draws: the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Following Jennifer Lopez and Shakira in 2019, it has been announced that The Weeknd has been tapped as the performer for the Super Bowl LV Halftime Show.

“We all grow up watching the world’s biggest acts playing the Super Bowl and one can only dream of being in that position,” Abel said in a statement. “I’m humbled, honored, and ecstatic to be the center of that infamous stage this year.”

Super Bowl LV takes place February 7th, 2021. Hm… I wonder how this will actually work.
