YG, Day Sulan, & D3szn – “Hit Em Up”

In October 2020 YG released his fifth album, My Life 4Hunnid. Alongside his own career, he has been guiding the ones of his protégés Day Sulan and D3szn.

The three get together on the imprint’s first release of 2021, “Hit Em Up.” Despite the song title’s 2Pac reference, the track is clearly a Compton drill track. Or, is it a Compton take on Brooklyn drill? Bompton drill? I think that’s a more proper descriptor.
