San Diego police are searching for a man they say pushed another man off a Subway platform and into an oncoming train on Saturday, People reports.

The incident, which took place at the Old Town trolley station, ended in the death of a 60-year-old man, per 10 News. Officers said that the man was found with “apparent trauma to his upper body” and soon pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect who authorities believe pushed the man into the train before they got off at the platform, is a thin 5’7” to 5’9” “light-skinned” male, wearing all black clothing, per the SDPD. The victim’s name will reportedly be released at a later time.

“It’s upsetting and I just wish it didn’t happen,” a regular on the train told 10 News, explaining that she usually takes it on her daily commute and witnessed the alleged push. “I was just paranoid and just freaking out.”

The incident and resulting investigation led to hours of train disruption, and police are encouraging anyone with information about the suspect, who they say fled the scene, to come forward. Lieutenant Andra Brown told FOX 5 News that police are “very hopeful that we will have a resolution to this case,” which police say occurred “without provocation.”

“But anyone with information, we ask that they call the San Diego Police Department or Crime Stoppers,” she said. “They can remain anonymous if they wish, but we’re going to need a little help on this one.”
