The direct Scream 4 sequel (and first to not be directed by the late Wes Craven) is set 25 years after at the events of the first film, with a new murderer having taken on the appearance of Woodsboro killer Ghostface. Returning as part of the cast to once again give fans even more of their death-dodging characters are Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers, David Arquette as Dewey Riley, and Marley Shelton as Judy Hicks.
Joining the returning stars are Scream newcomers including Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Kyle Gallner, Jack Quaid, and more.
“My character, Sam [Carpenter], becomes the target of the Ghostface killer,” Barrera, whose recent credits include In the Heights and Vida, recently explained when teasing where the new Scream story may or may not take the franchise. “She seeks Dewey for help.”
In Arquette’s words, Dewey’s “huge heart” is what ultimately inspires him to once again get involved in the pursuit of a masked killer.
