The Godfather is one of the most acclaimed and quotable movies ever. And while a generation of movie fans know Francis Ford Coppola’s magnum opus front-to-back, they might not be as familiar with the incredible story about how it went from page to screen.

Well, that’s all about to change.

In just a few months, Paramount+ will debut The Offer, a 10-episode limited series about the making of what many consider to be the greatest movie ever made.

In the just-released teaser trailer, which you can watch up top, we see Miles Teller as producer Albert S. Ruddy, who must navigate the gilded gates of Hollywood and L.A.’s criminal underbelly to get the movie made.

Starring alongside Teller is Matthew Goode as legendary producer Robert Evans, Giovanni Ribisi as Joe Colombo, Dan Fogler as Francis Ford Coppola, and Juno Temple as Bettye McCartt.

Armie Hammer was previously set to star in the series, but was replaced by Teller after several women accused him of sexual abuse.

Michael Tolkin, who wrote the series, told Vanity Fair about what he found so compelling about the story. “What sealed it for me was when Al said, ‘Every day of making The Godfather was the worst day in my life,’ and that told me we had a show,” Tolkin said. “For every character in the film, getting it made or stopping it from being made was at the core of their actions, and it was a matter of life and death to them. So that’s not a gangster story, that’s a human story. That’s what gave the book and the movie so much power. Everyone is fighting for their existence.”
