School Apologizes After Video Showed Teacher Leading Pre-Schoolers in Anti-Biden Chant

A California private school has apologized to parents after a video showed a preschool teacher leading her class in a political chant.

“Who’s our president?” the teacher is heard saying in the footage.

“Biden!” the students respond.

“What do we want to do with him?” the teacher asks the 4- to 5-year-old students.

“We want him out!” they shout back.

According to KTLA, the video was taken on President’s Day at Turning Point Christian School in Southern California. The footage was reportedly posted on a messaging app that faculty use to communicate with parents like Christina McFadden, whose daughter was among the students featured in the clip.

“The teacher is indoctrinating her students. Everybody has a right to believe in what they want and my daughter wasn’t given that opportunity,” McFadden told the outlet. “And especially at that age, I don’t even think that she can comprehend to make an informed decision on who and what she should believe in.”

McFadden said that after she viewed the eight-second video, she removed her daughter from class and immediately contacted school officials. She told KTLA that administrators removed the clip and released the following statement to parents: 

We use Brightwheel [app] as a parent communication app to share about your child’s day and activities. Earlier today a video was posted that has since been deleted as it did not share our school and church philosophy of honoring and respecting authority including those in government positions. We are sorry for any misunderstanding this could of (sic) created. With courtesy towards the families of our campus and the children in the classroom I am asking you to please not share with others or post the video on any social media platform.

McFadden said officials reassured her the teacher was spoken to and the lessons were reviewed. It’s unclear if the teacher will face any disciplinary action, but McFadden got the impression that officials were “OK with it.” She told KTLA that her daughter has since switched schools.

“At this point it’s not about the school,” she explained, “it’s about informing parents that this is happening.”
