Bam Margera Seeks to Dismiss ‘Jackass Forever’ Lawsuit Against Johnny Knoxville and Paramount

Bam Margera has apparently agreed to squash his legal beef with former co-star Johnny Knoxville.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the 42-year-old skateboarder and TV personality has requested to dismiss his wrongful termination lawsuit against Knoxville and others involved in 2022’s Jackass Forever. Margera, who was a mainstay in MTV’s Jackass series, claimed he was coerced into signing a “wellness agreement” in order to participate in the Paramount film. He said he was told to ink the agreement during a 2019 rehab stint, and never got the chance to run it by a lawyer.

As part of the agreement, Margera was reportedly required to submit regular drug and alcohol tests, as well as take various prescription drugs, which he claimed made him depressed and mentally drained.

After he allegedly tested positive for Adderall, Margera was booted from production; however, he claimed his doctor had been prescribing him the drug for years, and he was not given “an opportunity to explain” his situation prior to his firing.

“Paramount’s inhumane treatment of Margera cannot be countenanced,” the suit read. “Margera was made to endure psychological torture in the form of a sham Wellness Agreement, and then ultimately terminated for his protected class status due to his medical condition, and his complaints about Defendants’ discriminatory conduct towards him.”

Paramount was listed as a co-defendant along with Jackass Forever director/producer Jeffrey Tremaine, Spike Jonze, MTV, Dickhouse Entertainment, and Gorilla Flicks.

“Margera’s lawsuit is baseless,” the defendants’ lawyers said in a statement back in October. “His claims seeking to enjoin Jackass Forever improperly target Defendants’ protected speech and are precluded as a matter of law […] This Court should strike them.”

The final cut of Jackass Forever includes brief appearances by Margera, whose name is also featured in the post-credits. It’s unclear if he and the defendants reached a settlement.
