A Wisconsin man has been charged with the murders of six people at a Milwaukee duplex after a selfie he took allegedly showed the basement of the home where the bodies were found.

As CBS News reports, 34-year-old Travis Lamar Birkley has been charged with six counts of felony murder over the deaths of six people who were found on Jan. 23 with gunshot wounds. Cellphone data seen by investigators allegedly included that of a selfie the suspect took hours after the killings, in a location where three of the bodies were discovered.

Per People, a witness told authorities that Birkley admitted to killing the victims after an attempted robbery turned sour, and he was was seen with cash, drugs, and a gun that belonged to one of the people he killed.

WDJT-TV reports that Birkley, per investigators, appeared to be wearing a pair of sunglasses that belonged to one of the victims, and that he admitted to killing six people alongside his cousin after a failed robbery attempt—although his cousin is not identified by name in the complaint against him.

“The defendant took a photo of himself in the basement where three dead bodies were later located,” the complaint reads, adding that “the ‘selfie’ shows the defendant wearing a pair of what appears to be expensive eyeglasses. Witnesses have told police that the defendant did not wear glasses.”

The victims in the killings were 49-year-old Michelle Williams, 44-year-old Donta Williams, 43-year-old Donald Smith, 42-year-old Charles Hardy, 31-year-old Javoni Liddell, and 23-year-old Caleb Jordan. Three of the victims reportedly lived in the building where the bodies were discovered. Shell casings were found at the scene as well, apparently coming from two different guns.

If convicted, Birkley could face up to 330 years in prison and bail has been set to $1 million.
