Here’s the “TL;DR,” CliffsNotes version of this week’s “rapper beefing with Funk Flex,” this time involving Conway the Machine.

LongStoryShort, Conway accused Flex of not properly supporting rappers from New York, which — admittedly — is kind of hard to argue for, considering that if you turn on his radio show he tends to play artists from the city’s drill scene (regardless of how you feel about the music, technically that is supporting New York artists), but this writer completely understood Conway’s perspective (artists like Stove God Cooks, Roc Marciano, and the like have rarely — if at all — received radio play from Hot 97). Flex barked back, somehow Pete Rock got thrown into the mix, now Flex and Pete got issues, and eventually Conway and Flex settled their differences.

The two got together for the quickstrike freestyle, “RIP Steve Smith.” Ain’t NY hip hop grand?
