On Friday, LeBron James’ media company Uninterrupted and Netflix announced The Redeem Team, a documentary focused on the 2008 USA Olympic men’s basketball victory in Beijing.

The documentary marks the first collaboration between the International Olympic Committee and Netflix, and will feature never-before-seen footage of the Kobe Bryant-led team. The lineup that led the United States to victory in men’s basketball that year were dubbed the Redeem Team after the lackluster performance at the Olympics in 2004. The documentary promises to show how the players were selected for the team, and will feature interviews with those involved including LeBron, Dwyane Wade, and Mike ‘Coach K’ Krzyzewski.

The documentary is set to debut on Netflix on Oct. 7, and is directed by filmmaker Jon Weinbach. Wade is attached as an executive producer to the project, as is LeBron, Maverick Carter, Jamal Henderson, and Phillip Bryon of Uninterrupted.

“In 2008, I played with heroes of mine, all stars, friends and future teammates. Outside of winning and showing the world that we were still the most dominant, our other big challenge was changing the perception of what everyone thought about the NBA and USA Basketball!” said Wade upon the announcement of the documentary. “I’m excited for everyone to get an opportunity to go behind the scenes and see all the work that went into this iconic team — The Redeem Team!”

Olympic Channel Services GM Mark Parkman added that documentary, and the team featured in it, “represents the very best of what the Olympics are all about.
