The country’s longest-running reality show is returning to the small screen.

According to Variety, the controversial Cops reboot will premiere exclusively on Fox Nation next week, more than a year after the streaming service green-lit the program.

“The reaction has been positively overwhelming,” Fox Nation president Jason Klarman said about the revival. “Our subscribers continue to flock to the series and we’re excited to provide our engaged audience with more of the exclusive content they have come to rely on from Fox Nation.”

The series’ reboot will kick off with three 20-minute episodes on Sept. 30, followed by a new offering at 6 p.m. ET every Friday.

Cops, which has been widely criticized for exploiting poor communities and people of color, was previously picked up by the Paramount Network in May 2013; however, the company canceled the show ahead of its 33rd season, amid nationwide protests against police brutality.

A&E pulled a similar move shortly after, when it confirmed the cancelation of Live PD—an Emmy-winning docuseries focused on America’s law enforcement.

“This is a critical time in our nation’s history and we have made the decision to cease production on Live PD,” the network said in a statement. “Going forward, we will determine if there is a clear pathway to tell the stories of both the community and the police officers whose role it is to serve them. And with that, we will be meeting with community and civil rights leaders as well as police departments.”
