Google PlayUniversity of Kentucky student Sophia Rosing has been arrested after a video showed her physically and verbally attacking a Black student.
Per WKYT, the 22-year-old student was booked on Sunday for charges of alcohol intoxication in a public place, second-degree disorderly conduct, fourth-degree assault, and third-degree assault of a police officer. In a video that has circulated online, Rosing is seen assaulting fellow student and dormitory desk clerk Kylah Spring and repeatedly calling her the N-word and a “bitch.”

Rosing is being held on $10,000 bond, according to an online record from the Fayette County Detention Center.
In a post Spring shared on TikTok that has since been removed, she told her side of the story, explaining that she asked Rosing if she was okay, after she noticed her drunkenly stumbling up to the elevator in the building and mumbling to herself. “I say, ‘are you okay?’ and she continues to look at me and she starts calling me a n****r,” said Spring. “She bit me along my arm. She punched me in my face.” Spring added that Rosing kicked and bit the police officer who arrested her.
University of Kentucky president Dr. Eli Capilouto said that an investigation into the incident is ongoing. “Our Office of Student Conduct also is conducting an immediate review, and our Student Success teams are reaching out to the student victims who were subject to this behavior to offer support,” reads Capilouto’s statement. “To be clear: we condemn this behavior and will not tolerate it under any circumstance. The safety and well-being of our community has been—and will continue to be—our top priority.”
