Google PlayBob Odenkirk expects to enjoy his state of post-Better Call Saul “wallowing” for at least 10 more years, if not for the rest of his life.
Indeed, as Odenkirk detailed in a newly excerpted Empire interview, he considers his acclaimed time as Saul Goodman/Jimmy McGill on both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul as “the role of my lifetime.” As such, that aforementioned “wallowing” will continue, perhaps indefinitely.
“I wanted more time to wallow, and I’m going to wallow for the next ten years or more,” Odenkirk said. “I know that was probably the role of my lifetime, and that’s a wonderful thing to have had. Some people don’t get that. I will be wallowing the rest of my life.”

Earlier this month, Odenkirk was seen in a Saul Season 6 Blu-ray clip revealing that he would have wanted the series to continue with a new actor if he hadn’t been able to return after suffering a heart attack during production.
“They wouldn’t have tried to go on, which makes me feel bad,” the actor said in the Fandom-premiered clip. “If that had happened, I would have liked if they got some actor to play him just to tell the story that they’d written.”
On the horizon for Odenkirk and his legion of art-forward fans is next year’s comedy/drama series Straight Man, which was given a fast-tracked series order from AMC Networks back in April. This will mark Odenkirk’s third project with AMC, which is a very good sign for us all given that (as previously and repeatedly pointed out by numerous scholars) triples is best.
