TikTok Video of Police Chase on Foot on Montreal Highway Goes Viral

Montreal traffic is not a joke, but a police chase on one of the city’s busiest highways may have cracked a laugh or two from people who got to see the whole ordeal, whether it was in person or in the now-viral video circulating social media.

On Jan. 15, a TikTok user posted a video of the chase from overhead showing three individuals fleeing from police and one of them knocking over an officer after they attempted to grab their duffel bag.

Though the video only surfaced this week, CTV News confirmed via the Quebec provincial police that the chase happened on Jan. 7.

The wild police chase video then started to spread across social media. One Twitter user thought that adding the Benny Hill theme song would make the video even funnier.

Others on TikTok seemed more confused, wondering where the three could have gone, considering they were on a highway with no clear exit to the city streets. One commenter joked that they were “caught in Toronto running down the 401,”

The most recurring comments on the TikTok video noticed one of the suspects fleeing waved towards the cameraman as they ran down the highway.

“The one on the left showing love to the one recording,” TikTok user ItsBarelyAlive wrote.

Of course, in the middle of the NFL playoffs, TikTok user Yugoslavia 2.0 broke the scene down like an ESPN analysis.

“And he breaks past the last defender, he might go all the way […] Touchdown!” he wrote.
