VH1’s The X-Life cast member, Denise Russo, died at the age of 44 due to unknown causes.

The reality TV star was found unresponsive on the floor at a friend’s apartment in San Diego, per TMZ. According to the Medical Examiners Office in a press release, EMT arrived shortly after receiving a 911 call to the scene. After multiple attempts of resuscitation, Russo was pronounced dead. Law enforcement noted that drug paraphernalia was discovered at the apartment. The cause of death is currently pending.

Former castmate and close friend Susie Stenberg told the outlet that Russo was living in a car around the time she unfortunately passed. Also stated the night before her death, Russo told Stenberg that she loved her. Stenberg remembered her friend, saying, she was “the most loving and loyal person.”

Russo shares an 8-year-old son, Leo Wolf, with professional skateboarder Pierre-Luc Gagnon, who also starred in the 2011 show. The pair was one of the three couples on the show that showcased the lives of extreme sports competitors. Russo and Gagnon split after the one-season series.
