Google PlayDennis “D.J.” Hernandez, the older brother of the late NFL player Aaron Hernandez, was arrested after he allegedly threw a brick at ESPN’s headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut, TMZ reports. According to the outlet, the brick that Hernandez threw was in a plastic bag that also contained a handwritten note.
“To all media outlets,” the letter read, according to authorities. “It’s about time you all realeyes [sic] the affect media has on all family members. Since you’re a world wide leader maybe you could lead how media and messages are delivered brick by brick. Clean it up!” The note continued, “Yours truly, Dennis J. Hernandez.”
The incident, which occurred on March 23, saw Hernandez being arrested for misdemeanor breach of peace. He arrived to ESPN’s campus in an Uber and threw the brick onto the HQ’s grounds after he was denied entry by security. Police also told Hernandez that another visit to ESPN’s headquarters would likely result in him being detained for trespassing.
Hernandez is set to be in court in April.
Aaron Hernandez, who played with the New England Patriots for three seasons, died in 2017 while serving a life sentence for the murder of Odin Lloyd.
