They are HILARIOUS for this.

With the announcement that he will release his anticipated, as-yet untitled ninth full-length album later in 2023, Usher first set things off with “Good Good” featuring 21 Savage and Summer Walker. Now, with his wildly successful (and quasi-relationship ruining) Las Vegas residency playing a obviously playing a role in this connection, he shares a video for his second focus track “Boyfriend,” with Keke Palmer as a special guest.

The throwback-inspired cut, and its matching visual, has Palmer mimicking Usher during his “U Don’t Have To Call” era… which is just… the layers of petty meta these two are engaging in is off the charts. Hell, look at what Usher says as the very first lines of the song: “Somebody said that your boyfriend’s looking for me, oh that’s cool… Well he should know I’m pretty easy to find / Just look for me wherever he sees you.”

We being petty for the rest of the 99 and the 2023, and I am here for all of it!
