Tucker Carlson Called Out on Twitter After Admitting He Lies When ‘Cornered’

Tucker Carlson, who was confronted at a Montana fishing shop mere months ago and called “the worst human being known to mankind,” has shared some immediately-called-out thoughts about lying.

During an appearance on Dave Rubin’s podcast Sunday, which was flagged by Media Matters, Carlson expressed his concerns over perceived falsehoods being shared on air via CNN. And in the process, he admitted that he, himself, lies.

“How do you think they live with themselves at this point, when they just lie again and again and we have the internet to expose the lies?” Rubin asked.

Carlson replied, “I lie if I’m really cornered or something. I lie. I really try not to. I try never to lie on TV. I just don’t—I don’t like lying. I certainly do it, you know, out of weakness or whatever.”

Carlson continued in the segment, arguing mainstream media tries to “protect and guard the powerful” and that he no longer uses his program to target people who aren’t powerful. Recently on air, the Fox News pundit claimed that Democrats and the CDC “have been lying about COVID and the vaccine” and that Dr. Anthony Fauci “created COVID,”  as well as making controversial remarks about the police officers who testified after the Jan. 6 Capitol riots.

“And everyone who works on our show is very aware of the most basic rule, which is don’t piss down,” he said in the below segment. “Don’t attack people beneath you. If you’re gonna, you know, take a punch, make sure it’s upward—someone who is rich or stronger, more powerful, in charge of more things than you are.”

Check out part of the segment below, and see what people on Twitter are saying about Carlson’s admission of lying.
