A detailed new report sees planners of Trump-supporting D.C. rallies alleging that “multiple members” of Congress were involved in planning the Jan. 6 events that ultimately exploded in violence.

The report, which also alleges that members of Congress were “intimately involved” in planning Trump’s attempts at overturning the 2020 election, comes from Rolling Stone and is notably being being published amid an ongoing investigation led by a special House committee.

Sources cited in the report also allege, among other things, to have had interactions with members of the former president’s team, with ex-Chief of Staff Mark Meadows getting a special mention.

While the sources are remaining anonymous due to the aforementioned investigation, the report notes that they have been confirmed to have been involved in organizing “the main event” at the White House Ellipse. Trump, who lost the 2020 election to former VP Joe Biden, addressed the crowd at that particular event.

Several Republican leaders, including far-right conspiracy theorist Marjorie Taylor Greene, are mentioned in the report. Rep. Paul Gosar, a Republican from Arizona, is alleged to have assured the sources of a “blanket pardon” in connection with the efforts.

Complex has reached out to a rep for Gosar’s office and will update this post accordingly.

“I do kind of feel abandoned by Trump,” one source, referred to in the Rolling Stone report as “the planner,” said when reflecting on the events of Jan 6. “I’m actually pretty pissed about it and I’m pissed at him.”

Members of Congress allegedly being involved in election-targeting events is a topic that’s already received media attention. The latest report, however, sees sources pointing to more specific information on this alleged involvement. Moving forward, the sources in the report—which is available in full here—are aiming to provide this extended information to investigators and testify publicly.

And this is far from the only Capitol riot-focused update making the rounds this week. Internal Facebook documents, including these obtained and excerpted by ABC News on Sunday, provide a more thorough look into how the platform both prepared and responded to calls for violence and the spreading of misinformation in connection with Jan. 6.

Last week, the House voted to hold Steve Bannon—a former Breitbart exec and Trump administration member—in contempt after he defied a subpoena in connection with the Jan. 6 probe.
