A 35-year-old Texas woman was arrested over the weekend after pulling a loaded gun on a trick-or-treater, authorities said.

In a statement, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred on Halloween, with deputies responding at around 7:20 p.m. local time to an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon report in Buda. At the time, the woman—identified as Monica Ann Bradford—was said to have been screaming at kids who were walking outside her home while trick-or-treating.

At one point, Bradford walked out of the home “with a loaded weapon and pointed it at a 7-year-old child who was walking in front of the residence,” authorities said.

with FOX 7 Austin detailed the chaotic and worrisome scene.

“How can somebody just come out with a weapon and scare these kids?” one neighbor asked. Another neighbor, meanwhile, claimed this was actually the second Halloween in a row in which there was “an incident” involving Bradford.

Records viewed by Complex show that Bradford was arrested and booked into the Hays County Jail under the charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which is a felony. Bond was set at $10,000, with jail records showing that she was released on Nov. 1.

In a statement on Monday, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office said that interviews regarding the incident were still in the process of being carried out. A rep for the office declined to comment further when reached via email by Complex on Tuesday.
