‘The Whitest Kids U Know’ Co-Creator Trevor Moore’s Falling Death Officially Declared an Accident

Comedian Trevor Moore—who died on Aug. 6 following what was investigated as a suspected fall from the second-story balcony of his Los Angeles home—is confirmed to have died in an accidental manner.

The co-founder/creator of sketch comedy group/TV series The Whitest Kids U’ Know died at age 41 of blunt force head trauma after the fall to his backyard, per the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s ruling. TMZ reports that Moore’s blood alcohol content was over the legal limit. Police told the outlet they found empty alcohol bottles at the scene.

“We are devastated by the loss of my husband, best friend and the father of our son,” Moore’s wife, Aimee Carlson, shared in an earlier statement via his manager Kara Welker. “He was known as a writer and comedian to millions, and yet to us he was simply the center of our whole world. We don’t know how we’ll go on without him, but we’re thankful for the memories we do have that will stay with us forever. We appreciate the outpouring of love and support we have received from everyone. This is a tragic and sudden loss and we ask that you please respect our privacy during this time of grieving.”

Moore had a long history in comedy, from segments on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno to his own Trevor Moore Talk Show. But the funnyman really struck gold after moving to New York City in 1999 and doing an internship with Saturday Night Live, when he formed the Whitest Kids U’ Know group with Zach Cregger, Sam Brown, Timmy Williams, and Darren Trumeter. Their sketch series was produced for IFC from 2007-2011, and the ensemble manned several films like Miss March and The Civil War on Drugs.

“Early this morning, we learned that we lost our brother, our collaborator and the driving force behind WKUK,” Cregger and Brown previously shared in a statement with fans. “He was our best friend, and we speak for all of us in saying that the loss of Trevor is unimaginable. We are heartbroken and our grief pales in comparison to the loss felt by his wife and son.”
