22-year-old TikTok star Mahek Bukhari and her 45-year-old mother have been arrested on murder charges after they allegedly chased down and ran two men off the road, resulting in a fatal crash.

Per a report from the BBC, Bukhari, her mother Ansreen Bukhari, and 21-year-old Natasha Akhtar were arrested in connection with the deaths of 21-year-olds Saqib Hussain and Mohammed Hashim Ijazuddin. The incident happened just outside of the A46’s Six Hills junction in Leicestershire during the early hours of Feb. 11, 2022, and the three women were allegedly responsible for running their car off the road. Hussain and Ijazuddin, who are cousins, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Predominantly a fashion blogger through her TikTok account, which has over 120k followers, Bukhari appeared in court on Wednesday and acknowledged the severity of the charges she faces. Three cars were involved in the crash, and they were all traveling at a high speeds according to police.

Two other men, 21-year-old Raees Jamal and 28-year-old Rekan Karwan, were also arrested in connection with the crash, although it’s unclear how they were involved. According to right-wing British tabloid the Daily Mail, Bukhari mentioned last year that she had “beef” with other influencers. According to Ijazuddin’s father Sikander Hayat, his son had agreed to drive Hussain to see a friend the night of the crash. He added that it’s not clear who they were going to see, and the families are “waiting for the police to give us a proper update.”

The trial date is currently set for September 26, but another hearing will take place before then on March 18.
