Google PlayLess than a week after her split from Kanye West, Uncut Gems actress Julia Fox has become a meme for how she pronounced the 2019 film’s title during an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast.
During her extensive interview on the show, Fox was asked if she considers herself Ye’s muse. “Yeah, a little, maybe,” she replied in a clip that started to circulate this week. “I mean, I was Josh Safdie’s muse when he wrote Uncut Gems. Do you know what I mean? Things like that. I think people make it seem a little more dramatic than it is.”
Fox had her breakthrough role in the movie, directed by brothers Josh and Benny Safdie and starring Adam Sandler.
The way she pronounced the title on the podcast led to a TikTok trend,in which users attempt to butcher the pronunciation as much as possible. Uncut Jams or Uncut Jeyhmsss, for example.
When Page Six shared the compilation of TikToks seen above, Fox playfully responded to the trolling.
“Omggggg I was stoned leave me alone!!!!” she wrote in the comments. “Hahahahahah 😂😂😂.”
Fox made headlines earlier this year when she and Kanye West starting dating amid his divorce from Kim Kardashian. The couple have since broken up, and she’s not put up with trolling from fans and critics alike in the days that followed. Most notably, she got into a heated back-and-forth with Azealia Banks, who called Fox a “junkie” and her infant child a “crackhead.”
