Ben Stiller Offers Thoughts on Why Pete Davidson Is Popular With Women

Pete Davidson’s dating history is already the stuff of legend. When asked to explain Davidson’s way with women during a recent interview, his friend Ben Stiller offered up some thoughts.

“He’s so personable,” Stiller said during an appearance on the Howard Stern Show. The subject kicked off when Stern brought up a photo of the two of them at a recent Knicks game alongside Jon Stewart. Stern suggested that “women can’t stay away” from Davidson, who Stiller called “an incredibly sweet guy.”

“He’s got such a charisma,” Stiller said. “He’s funny, he’s really funny, but he has become really famous for, I think…” Stern replied, “Dating,” to which Stiller conceded, “Yes, and being on the show.”

Stiller continued, “I get the sense that he’s a guy who really loves to work, who cares about his work. And that’s how he’s going to be known. He’s got a lot of great work ahead of him too.”

He continued to praise Davidson, who he said is “really funny” on SNL despite rarely playing a character compared to the rest of the cast.

“To be able to go on ‘Weekend Update,’ and do what he does… He’s doing him, right. It’s not that easy to be that funny and interesting and likable. … He’s taking his life and turning it into material.” Stern asked if he believes the public attention on Davidson led to him being comfortable to do such material on SNL, but Stiller thinks he became popular just because he has always been himself.

“People were attracted to watching him on the show, and he just has a real charm about him,” Stiller explained. “I think he really wants to act, and he’s making movies and taking roles on that are real acting roles.” 

Davidson has been romantically linked to Margaret Qualley, Kate Beckinsale, Kaia Gerber, Cazzied David, and Ariana Grande.

In recent months, Davidson has been dating Kim Kardashian, much to the disapproval of her estranged husband Kanye West. In fact, the rapper’s criticism of Pete, who he started calling “Skete,” got so bad that he eventually had to ask fans not to physically assault the SNL cast member if they came across him.
