Amanda Bynes, per a new report, has filed to end her conservatorship.
On Friday, Page Six reported that Bynes had filed court documents in Ventura County, California in which she asked for the termination of the conservatorship of her person and the estate. A hearing on the matter is said to be slated for next month.
The She’s the Man actress and Nickelodeon alum has been in a conservatorship since 2013. The move gave her mother, Lynn Bynes, authority over financial and medical matters.
In recent months, Bynes’ conservatorship—as well as others in the entertainment industry—have received renewed attention from the general public due to developments in the Britney Spears case. In November of last year, a Los Angeles judge ended the singer’s widely condemned conservatorship, thus bringing to a close a years-long battle emboldened by supportive fans.
