Julia Fox Says She Felt Like She Was ‘Cast’ to Be Kanye’s Girlfriend: ‘It Really Did Feel Like a Movie’

Julia Fox is getting candid about her short-lived romance with Kanye West.

In a recent interview with the New York Times, the Uncut Gems star addressed some of the rumors swirling around her and Ye’s relationship, which many dismissed as a publicity stunt. Fox admitted that her time with Kanye served as “a crash course on how to be famous,” but insisted there were parts of the relationship that felt very real. 

“It definitely felt like I was his girlfriend. But it also felt like I was being cast in the role of his girlfriend—and he was casting me,” she told the publication.” He was the orchestrator of it all. It really did feel like a movie.”

Fox, who met Kanye on New Year’s Eve 2021, also confirmed that she and Ye were not exclusive, nor did they refer to each other as “boyfriend” and “girlfriend.” She also denied rumors that she had “interviewed” to be Kanye’s girlfriend as well as reports that she had signed a non-disclosure agreement.

According to her estimates, Fox had only spent a total of 15 days with Kanye before she decided to call it quits.

“I tried my best to make it work,” she continued. “I already had a jam-packed life. How do I fit this really big personality into this already full life? It just wasn’t sustainable. I lost like 15 pounds in that month.

“… Look at the big picture. That was amazing for me. The exposure was priceless,” she said. “But I do think eventually I’ll surpass the Kanye narrative. Believe it or not, Kanye’s not the most interesting thing that’s ever happened to me.”

During his relationship with Fox, Kanye had made numerous public pleas for Kim Kardashian to take him back. He also took aim at his estranged wife’s current boyfriend, Pete Davidson, and went so far as to cut ties with those who chose to remain friends with the Saturday Night Live star.

So, is Fox concerned Kanye might one day turn on her, like he has with so many others in his life? If he does, Fox is seemingly ready for it.

“I don’t think that he would want to open that door with me,” she said. “If you come for me, I’m going to come for you. And I’m really good at coming for people. I just go straight for the jugular.”
