A ramp connecting two of Toronto’s busiest highways was shut down on Sunday due to a fishy situation.

The southbound ramp of the 404 that leads to the eastbound 401 was shuttered after a truck carrying live fish rolled onto its side, spilling some sea creatures inside of the truck and onto the side of the highway.

In a video posted to the OPP Highway Safety Division’s Twitter account, Acting Sgt. Tim Dunnah showed the scene of the accident, saying, “We have unfortunately some fish out of water.”

The driver of the truck was taken to hospital to treat minor injuries, and no one else was hurt.

This is one of many weird things happening in Toronto lately. Just last week, a man was arrested for spraying people with an unknown substance on the TTC. Maybe Turning Red should’ve added some strangeness when they sprinkled nods to Toronto throughout the movie.

Police said the ramp would be reopened by 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. Though they haven’t said what caused the collision, the crash occurred during an onset of wintery weather. OPP had advised people to be especially careful while driving due to the snowfall, lest they want to slide like a fish on the side of a slippery highway.
