50 Cent Says Starz Has ‘Messed Up the Flow’ by Taking Too ‘Long to Green Light’ His Shows

The latest chapter in 50 Cent’s long-simmering feud with Starz is unfolding, with the hip-hop mogul expressing his frustration with the network over his latest series Power Book IV: Force as well as a general tendency to drag its feet on renewals.

50 took to Twitter to reveal he won’t have a series airing on Starz for the next half-year. “I have 4 more episodes of FORCE, then I don’t have anything airing on STARZ for six months so y’all know the vibes,” he wrote.

On Saturday, Fif jumped back on social media to address a fan who posted a TikTok video demanding an answer regarding the Power franchise’s forthcoming hiatus.

“FORCE is the highest rated premier of any show on the network,” 50 tweeted. “When they take too long to green light it, it pushes the production time line back. after tonight’s episode there are 3 left, April 10 it’s a wrap. Then 6 months till i have anything new.”

Power aired from 2014 to 2020 and has spawned three spinoffs all amounting to 10 seasons of TV so far: the aforementioned Force as well as Power Book II: Ghost and Book III: Raising Kanan, which have all been renewed. Including BMF, 50 Cent will have had Starz shows airing straight from July 2021 through this April.

50 also reposted a video on IG of an irate fan hilariously addressing the network at length, saying things like “we only here because of him,” “you don’t gotta go out like this 50, we gon’ take care of Starz,” and “I’ma make sure nobody watch Starz again.”

The rapper captioned the clip, “LOL I’m sorry man they messed up the flow.”

The news arrives weeks after 50 threatened to leave Starz over its delay in renewing Power Book IV: Force.

“This is me packing my stuff, STARZ,” he captioned an Instagram video featuring a man packing a suitcase. “Sucks, my deal is up over here I’m out. They renewed High Town, and FORCE is the highest rated show they have sitting in limbo. If I told you how much dumb shit I deal with over here, you would think they all went to school on a small yellow bus.”

Starz didn’t end up having to call 50’s bluff, announcing a week later that Force has been renewed for Season 2.
