Google PlaySofia Richie is getting hitched.
The 23-year-old model/fashion designer took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce her engagement to Elliot Grainge, the London-born music executive she began dating in 2021. Richie shared a two-photo carousel that showed her 28-year-old partner down on one knee as he popped the question. The second image was a close-up shot of the couple kissing while with her engagement ring was on full display.
“Forever isn’t long enough @elliot,” she captioned the post.
Grainge—the son of Universal Music Group CEO Lucian Grainge—also posted a photo of the moment following his proposal.
“She said yes,” he simply wrote in the caption.
The two became Instagram official in April 2021, nearly a year after Richie confirmed she and Scott Disick had called it quits after three years of dating. Rumors of Richie and Grainge’s engagement began swirling back in November, when a source told E! News the couple had already discussed tying the knot.
“They have talked about getting engaged and it’s something that Sofia wants and is looking forward to,” the insider said. “They are a great match and it’s going really well. Sofia and Elliot currently live together and the adjustment has been so easy and seamless […] They have truly formed a solid bond recently and Sofia loves that they don’t have any drama. She loves how chill and calm Elliot is and they have a lot of fun together, even when they’re just being low-key at home.”
Sources say the two had known each other for years, as Richie’s dad, Grammy-winning artist Lionel Richie, was a close friend of Lucian Grainge. The source told E! News that Lionel Richie approved of the relationship
“He thinks they are a perfect match and it was very natural progression for Sofia and Elliot to get together,” the source said, after the couple confirmed the relationship. “It’s going well.”
