Blac Chyna’s $100 Million Defamation Trial Against Kardashians: What You Need to Know

On Sept. 11, 2016, Rob & Chyna premiered on the E! Network, which had been airing Keeping Up with the Kardashians and assorted spinoffs since 2007. A second season was expected, if not widely treated as a foregone conclusion, but never came to pass. And by 2017, the conversation had shifted to a lawsuit from series star Blac Chyna, who alleges members of the Kardashian-Jenner family “killed” her show.

Ahead of the start of the trial, Chyna shared a message to Twitter stating she was planning to “re-focus my attention” on the proceedings against Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner.

“At the end of the trial, I’m going to be able to proudly tell King and Dream that I did everything I could to right the wrong that was done to me,” she wrote, referencing her two children.

The short of it is that Chyna, per the Associated Press, is suing the Kardashians for $100 million in earnings, notably alleging—among other things—defamation. Rob Kardashian is also being sued by Chyna, with a judge having previously made the decision to give those allegations a separate trial.
