blame it on Meka June 30, 2022

All due respect to the guy, but anybody who thinks that Chris Brown can take on Usher in any kind of competition — when the latter is clearly one of the former’s biggest influences — is a blithering idiot.

Prior to his well-received performance at Pharrell’s Something In The Water festival, the living legend stopped by NPR Music to help them relaunch their in-studio Tiny Desk Concert series. “We celebrate Black Music Month. This has been Black magic,” he said during the show.

With a min-set spanning his illustrious career to date (with, among others, Eric Bellinger providing backup), Usher performed “You Make Me Wanna…,” “My Way,” and “Nice & Slow” (from My Way), “U Don’t Have to Call” (from 8701), and “Confessions Part II” and “Superstar” (from Confessions). Don’t bother anybody who takes the time out of their schedule to watch this, myself included.
