A shooting at a shopping mall in Copenhagen, Denmark on Sunday afternoon left three people dead and four others in critical condition.

NBC News reports a 22-year-old Danish man opened fire at a Field’s mall, killing a 17-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl, both from Denmark, and a 47-year-old Russian man. Four other people were transported to a local hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds and are said to be in critical but stable condition.

During a press conference on Monday, Copenhagen Chief Police Inspector Søren Thomassen said authorities have determined the shooter acted alone and appears to have selected his victims at random.

“My thoughts go to the wounded, relatives and others affected after this completely meaningless and terrible act,” Justice Minister Mattias Tesfaye said in a news conference. “We do not yet know the motive behind it, but I can assure you that the authorities are making every effort to get to the bottom of this matter so that the person or persons responsible can be prosecuted.”

The suspect faces charges of murder and attempted murder, and will be held for 24 days in a secure mental health facility while officials conduct their investigation.

Hours after the mass shooting took place, Harry Styles canceled his concert at the Royal Arena, a venue located close to the mall. The singer took to Twitter to send his condolences to the victims and their families.

“I’m heartbroken along with the people of Copenhagen,” he wrote. “I adore this city. The people are so warm and full of love. I’m devastated for the victims, their families, and everyone hurting. I’m sorry we couldn’t be together. Please look after each other. H”
