Mere days after the San Diego Comic-Con unveiling of the new Black Panther: Wakanda Forever teaser trailer, Marvel has unveiled a new three-song EP featuring Tems’ cover of the Vincent Ford-penned Bob Marley and the Wailers classic “No Woman, No Cry.”

A version of that cover, of course, was featured in this weekend’s sequel teaser and boasts production from Ludwig Göransson, the Oscar-winning musician who took home the Academy Award for Best Original Score for his work on 2018’s Black Panther starring the late Chadwick Boseman. In fact, Göransson—who also has three Grammys and two Emmys to his name—is credited as a producer on all three tracks featured on the newly released Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Prologue EP.

Rounding out the EP are Amaarae’s “A Body, A Coffin” and Santa Fe Klan’s “Soy.” Stream the full thing below via Spotify.

In a joint statement shared Monday, Göransson and director Ryan Coogler called Prologue the “aural first glimpse” of the new film.

“The sound world for the film began with extended trips to Mexico and Nigeria,” the two said. “We spent our days working with traditional musicians who educated us about the cultural, social, and historical contexts of their music. We built a catalogue of instrumental and vocal recordings with them that explored both traditional and non-traditional uses of their musical material. During the nights on these trips, we had recording sessions with contemporary artists who were akin to the characters and thematic material explored in the film.”

From there, Göransson and Coogler used the film’s script and these gathered recordings as a blueprint from which they ultimately developed a “musical vocabulary” for the characters.

“The instrumental score and soundtrack for Wakanda Forever both organically grew from these sessions and workshops,” the two said. “They are conceived together as a singular entity to create an immersive and enveloping sound world for the film.”

When Black Panther: Wakanda Forever hits theaters on Nov. 11, it will have been just over two years since Chadwick Boseman’s death at 43 due to complications from cancer. A tribute to the late actor is included in the film’s trailer, seen below. Per Variety, the teaser bagged 172 million views during its first 24 hours of availability.
