Chris Rock’s Everybody Hates Chris will be reimagined as an animated series to be released via Paramount+ and Comedy Central.

Announced Tuesday, Everybody Still Hates Chris is billed as a “reimagined animated version” of the Tyler James Williams-starring original, which aired for four seasons starting in 2005.

“Chris Rock is one of the most gifted comedians of all time and we’re excited to partner with him, 3 Arts, and CBS Studios to bring this to life and welcome it as the next big hit in our expanding arsenal of iconic adult animation that includes smash series such as South Park and the new Beavis and Butt-Head,” Chris McCarthy, President and CEO of Paramount Media Networks and MTV Entertainment Studios, said in a statement shared Tuesday.

Rock will return as a narrator of the new half-hour animated series and is also credited as an executive producer. Sanjay Shah, whose previous credits includes Fresh Off the Boat and King of the Hill, has been enlisted as showrunner.

During its four-season run, the original Everybody Hates Chris bagged a number of Emmy nominations and won several NAACP Image Awards.

Rock will resume his Ego Death World Tour later this month. The comedian’s extended 2022 routing, which has spurred numerous headlines, last saw Rock performing at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta.

In November, fans will be able to see Rock among the ensemble cast assembled for the latest David O. Russell film, Amsterdam. The Russell-penned film also features Christian Bale, John David Washington, Margot Robbie, Zoe Saldaña, Taylor Swift, Robert De Niro, and more. See the recently unveiled trailer below.
