Google PlayA Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady reconciliation? It seems unlikely.
A source tells People magazine that the 42-year-old super model is “done” with the relationship and is ready to move on from her 13-year marriage. The news comes about a month after Bündchen and Brady reportedly separated due to disagreements about the latter’s un-retirement.
“She is done with their marriage. She was upset about it for a long time and it’s still difficult, but she feels like she needs to move on,” the insider told the outlet. “She doesn’t believe that her marriage can be repaired … She is just trying to figure out her life.”
The source said Bündchen doesn’t have much contact with Brady, but “is doing OK.” The two tied the knot in 2009 and share two children: a 12-year-old son named Benjamin Rein, and a 9-year-old daughter named Vivian Lake. Brady also has a 15-year-old son, John Edward, whom he shares with his ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan. The insider said Bündchen “feels bad” for the children, but doesn’t expect to face any custody issues during the divorce proceedings.
In February, Brady confirmed he was retiring from the NFL after 22 seasons; however, he announced his return to the league just 40 days later—a decision that Bündchen seemingly opposed.
“Obviously, I have my concerns—this is a very violent sport, and I have my children and I would like him to be more present,” Gisele told Elle. “I have definitely had those conversations with him over and over again. But ultimately, I feel that everybody has to make a decision that works for [them]. He needs to follow his joy, too.”
Sources say the two have since retained divorce lawyers. The news came less than a year after Brady and Bündchen purchased a $17 million property on Miami Beach’s Indian Creek Island. An insider said Bündchen would prefer to stay in the area even after the divorce.
“Gisele loves Miami. She has friends there. She can see herself living there permanently,” the source said. “Again, she is still trying to figure things out. She is doing yoga, meditating and taking care of herself. She doesn’t put any pressure on herself to make drastic decisions.”
