Google PlayCharlamagne tha God has addressed being mentioned in the artist formerly known as Kanye West’s widely slammed (and later removed) Drink Champs interview.
During an episode of the Brilliant Idiots podcast this week, Charlamagne referenced the mention (namely Ye stating that Charlamagne had gone on air and said “Kim is with Pete because he got a bigger dick”) before offering his side. According to Charlamagne’s account, Ye called him last November about Pete Davidson’s relationship with Kim Kardashian.
“Finally he goes, ‘My wife is out here fucking a white boy with a 10-inch penis and you won’t help me?’ My wife is out here fucking a white boy with a 10-inch penis and you’re telling me that’s your friend, but you’re supposed to be culture?’” Charlamagne claimed. “He’s screaming on the phone. What am I supposed to do but laugh at that?”
When sharing his recollection of the alleged conversation, Charlamagne said there was “context missing” from his mention on Drink Champs.
“So I decided to provide it,” Charlamagne said.
Also on Friday, Women’s Wear Daily reported that Balenciaga was ending its relationship with Ye, whose work with the fashion house included the Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga “creative exploration.” Though no official reason was given for the reported move, its reveal comes amid continued fallout stemming from comments and social media posts Ye made that were widely called out as antisemitic.
This week, a $250 million lawsuit from the family of George Floyd was announced in response to comments Ye made about his murder on the same aforementioned episode of Drink Champs. Argued in the suit is that Ye engaged in “harassment, misappropriation, defamation, and infliction of emotional distress” with his roundly criticized remarks.
