Taylor Swift is set to make her feature directorial debut with Searchlight Pictures from an original script she wrote, per Variety.

The singer-songwriter has taken a more hands-on approach with her own music videos over the past few years, and directed the critically acclaimed short film All Too Well starring Sadie Sink and Dylan O’Brien in 2021. Now she’ll be stepping behind the camera to bring her screenplay to life, although details regarding what to expect from the project remain under wraps.

“Taylor is a once in a generation artist and storyteller. It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey,” said Searchlight presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield in a statement. Searchlight is a subsidiary of Walt Disney Studios, and is responsible for producing the Academy Award-winning movies Nomadland and Summer of Soul, among countless other acclaimed releases.

The news comes not long after Swift made history at the MTV Video Music Awards in August by becoming the first act in the show’s history to win Video of the Year for a self-directed visual. The honor was given to her 14-minute short All Too Well, which she also wrote. It has been screened at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival.
