That’s So Raven star Orlando Brown will undergo a psychiatric evaluation following his arrest for domestic violence in Ohio back in December.

Legal docs obtained by TMZ show that Brown’s attorney is asking for the evaluation, which is set to prove if the 35-year-old actor is mentally fit to stand trial. He was previously arrested in Ohio for “domestic violence – cause belief of imminent physical harm by threat of force,” after he was allegedly wielding a knife and a hammer.

TMZ also reported at the time that a Lima Police Department spokesperson had received a call about a physical altercation occurring either between him and someone in his family or with someone who was staying at his home. Brown was later charged with aggravated menacing, a first-degree misdemeanor in Ohio.

The former Disney star pleaded not guilty, but the results of the evaluation could cause Brown to change that plea. He is currently on house arrest following his release from custody after 24 hours behind bars. He posted a bond of around $25,000.

Brown was most recently arrested in 2018 via a bounty hunter after he had multiple outstanding warrants in his name. Brown was supposed to appear in court related to another domestic violence case stemming from an alleged incident in January but never showed.

However, Brown seemed to be getting his act together following his release from Los Angeles County jail. He announced his newfound sobriety in 2021 after he had enrolled in a six-month recovery program at Rise Church in Abilene, Texas.

“I can tell you that I’m OK. I’m alive,” he said in an interview at the time with the Christian Post. “I was in an unsafe position and it has been shaky but at the end of the day all I can tell you is I’m OK and I’m graduating and I will be getting married.”
