Ashton Kutcher Says If He Was ‘All Friendly’ With Reese Witherspoon on Red Carpet, Affair Rumors Would Start

Ashton Kutcher is revealing why things looked a bit awkward on the red carpet with his co-star Reese Witherspoon.

During an appearance on the Chicks in the Office podcast, Kutcher addressed his awkward photos with Witherspoon at the Your Place or Mine movie premiere last week. In a variety of pics, Kutcher maintained a straight face while standing beside a smiling Witherspoon. He also kept his hands in his pockets. 

“Here’s the thing: If I put my arm around her, and was like all friendly with her, I’d be having an affair with her,” Kutcher explained. “Like, the rumor would be that I’m having an affair with her.”

Like Kutcher, Witherspoon also addressed the awkward snaps. She revealed that his wife Mila Kunis texted her about their lack of chemistry. “[Kunis] even emailed us last night,” Witherspoon said to Today hosts last week. “She goes, ‘You guys look so awkward on the red carpet together.'”

Despite their lack of chemistry on the carpet, the two actors enjoyed working with each other on the upcoming Netflix film. “It’s just fun ’cause when you know a girlfriend so much, it was just fun to get to know her significant other, ’cause I’ve loved her for so long,” Witherspoon said of Kunis and Kutcher.

Ashton also sang Witherspoon’s praises on Chicks in the Office, revealing he enjoyed every moment. “She’s such a badass,” the Punk’d alum said. “She has such a presence…she has so much range, she can do drama, she can do comedy, she can do everything. She’s such a movie star.”
