On Thursday, Bruce Willis’ family revealed that the 67-year-old actor had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.

Willis’ daughter, Scout Willis, 31, took to her Instagram on Thursday to update her 323,000 followers on her emotional state following the news.

“Feeling emotionally tired and a bit overwhelmed, yet also very in awe of the love, so many people have for my papa,” she wrote, as she posed for a selfie wearing a cozy teddy hoodie.

Demi Moore, 60.

The two reposted Scout’s selfie on their Instagram story in agreeance. “Second this Scouter feels abundant love for our guy and our family,” Tallulah wrote. “I third this Scouter and Buusk feeling so deeply grateful and in awe of the love for our sweet Daddio,” Scout added.

In spring 2022, Willis announced his retirement from the big screen due to language aphasia that affected his ability to speak, listen, write, and read.

Willis’ three oldest daughters, ex-wife Demi Moore, and wife Emma Heming Willis, 44, released a brief statement via Instagram as they shared the same picture of Bruce revealing his current condition. “Since we announced Bruce’s diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce’s condition has progressed, and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD),” they wrote. “Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.”

Bruce shares two daughters, Mabel, 10, and Evelyn, 8, with Emma. The blended family concluded the full statement by mentioning how they are maneuvering through this challenging time as a “strong family unit.” They added: [We] wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him. As Bruce always says, ‘Live it up,’ and together we plan to do just that.”
