Google PlayBam Margera found himself in trouble with the law again.
TMZ reports the former Jackass star was arrested March 2 for domestic violence after authorities received a call from a woman alleging Margera kicked her. Police arrived at a home in Escondido, California at 5:30 a.m. and took the 43-year-old into custody.
The woman who made the call referred to Margera as her “husband.” Sources told the outlet she is his girlfriend, not estranged wife Nikki Boyd.
Margera was booked into Vista Detention Facility on a charge of corporal injury on a current spouse/dating partner. He posted $50,000 bail the next day and was set free.
“A spokesperson for the District Attorney’s office tells us no charges will be filed in the case from their office, as they only file charges when they believe they can prove them beyond a reasonable doubt,” TMZ writes, adding that it remains to be seen whether the woman will file charges elsewhere.
Last month Bam’s ex filed for legal separation after announcing their split in 2021. The two have been married for nine years. Court documents state that the breakup was due to “irreconcilable differences.” Boyd petitioned for spousal support as well as legal and physical custody of their 5-year-old son Phoenix. Margera is allowed visitation rights as long as he is a resident of the L.A. county region.
Boyd’s attorney said at the time, “Nikki felt compelled to file for legal separation from her husband, Bam Margera, due to his continuing drug and alcohol abuse, erratic behavior, and due to his failure to provide support for her and their son. Nikki has put everything she has into trying to get Bam to stay sober and to trying to preserve her family.”
