50 Cent Comments on BET’s Former CEO Saying She Had Affair With Network Founder

50 Cent hopped on social media on Wednesday to share his reaction to the former BET CEO revealing that she had an affair with the network’s founder.

Ahead of the release of her new autobiography I Am Debra Lee, Debra Lee stopped by Good Morning America, where she spoke with Robin Roberts about having an affair with BET founder Bob Johnson. According to Lee, Johnson, who, like Lee, was married at the time of their relationship, threatened her during the affair. 

“I wanted to tell that story because power dynamics are so important in a relationship, especially if you’re having a relationship with someone you work for,” Lee shared. “We all know the potential pitfalls. I worked for Bob Johnson for 10 years before we had a personal, romantic relationship. He was a mentor and he pushed me and he was responsible for a lot of my success. We did have a relationship while we were both married, we ended up both divorced, and then people knew about the relationship. The company knew, we started going places together.”

Lee added that Johnsokn threatened to end her career if she ever broke off their affair .

“It was like, ‘Well, if you want to break up with me, then you can leave tomorrow.’ And that was 20 years into my career at BET so I would have lost everything,” Lee explained.  

She added that when Johnson left the network, she was “(able) to live my dream without any form of harassment.”

Ever the troll, 50 Cent took to Instagram on Wednesday to share his reaction to Lee’s comments.

“You would not believe what goes on behind the scenes,” he wrote in the caption of one post. In a subsequent post, which mentioned that Lee “went from a legal clerk to the head of the BET empire,” Fif added, “Wow Deb must got that WAP. He gave her the whole sh*t, here you run it bae ! LOL.”
