Donald Trump’s run-ins with the law are finally catching up to him.
The former president took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to say that he expects to be arrested on Tuesday concerning the Stormy Daniels case. He asked his followers to protest the Manhattan D.A. Ivan Bragg indictment.
Trump calls the attorney’s office claims “corrupt and highly political” in the message.
Referring to himself, Trump wrote, “leading Republican candidate and former president of the United States will be arrested on Tuesday of next week.”
“Protest, take our nation back,” he echoed.
Trump’s upcoming charge is based on his involvement with adult film actress Stormy Daniels. Office Bragg has been investigating Trump for over a year, who paid Daniels $130,000 of hush money to be silenced during his 2016 Presidential campaign. During that time, reports came out about the two having an alleged affair.
On Friday, CNN reported that city, state, and federal law enforcement have been in week-long meetings about security regulations for Trump’s arrest.
On Monday, an eyewitness is set to testify to a grand jury. It is still being determined if this is the last witness to take the stand before votes on possibly charging Trump.
The twice-impeached ex-POTUS placed his bid to run for the 2024 presidential campaign in November 2022. “In order to make America great and glorious again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States,” he told his supporters at Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, FL.
Upon his announcement, Trump filed for official forms of Federal Election Commission, seemingly running against Democratic re-elect Joe Biden for a rematch in the polls.
