Following the New York Knicks’ playoff win on Sunday at Madison Square Garden, Pete Davidson was seen pushing a man after he invaded the comedian’s personal space.

In a video published by TMZ, as seen above, Davidson took the time after the game to take pictures and sign autographs with some fans in attendance. A man then appeared to approach him from behind and put his arm around the 29-year-old. As the man continued to get up in Davidson’s space, the former Saturday Night Live star pushed the man away, shook his head, and appeared to tell him to knock it off.

A video showing another angle of the incident was also shared on Twitter.

Before the incident, Davidson seemed in high spirits as his beloved Knicks beat the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday. The team could be headed to its first playoff series victory in a decade. Davidson was joined by his friend and fellow comedian Jon Stewart, with whom he frequently attends home games.

Davidson hasn’t addressed the tense moment with the overzealous fan, but he’s got other things to be concerned with as he’s set to return to SNL for his first time hosting the show on May 6 alongside musical guest Lil Uzi Vert. It will be his first appearance on SNL since he exited in May 2022 at the end of Season 47 alongside longtime regulars Aidy Bryant, Kate McKinnon, Alex Moffat, Kyle Mooney, Chris Redd, and Melissa Villaseñor. His semi-autobiographical series Bupkis will also be making its premiere on Peacock on May 4.
