Spider-Man: No Way Home has returned to No. 1 at the box office.

The Tom Holland-starring film reclaimed its top spot as Scream fell 59 percent in its second weekend, with No Way Home earning $14.1 million in its sixth weekend of release, according to Variety.

The news arrives alongside reports that the Marvel film has passed 2015’s Jurassic World ($1.67 billion) and 1994’s The Lion King ($1.66 billion) to become the sixth-highest grossing movie in history with $1.69 billion at the worldwide box office. No Way Home has earned $721 million domestic and just under $1.7 billion worldwide.

Back in December, No Way Home scored the third-largest domestic opening ever, bringing in $253 Million in its first weekend to surpass the $247.9 million opening of 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, per Deadline.

From there, the latest Spider-Man installment topped $1 billion worldwide gross mark on Christmas Day, making it the highest-grossing film of 2021, beating out Chinese war film The Battle at Lake Changjin, which grossed over $905 million at the box office.

Surpassing the threshold in just 12 days, No Way Home became the first movie to reach $1 billion in box office revenue since 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The only films to have reached the milestone in less time have been Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War, which made it to a billion in five and 11 days, per CNN. No Way Home is also the only film released during the pandemic to cross the billion mark.
