Martin Lawrence Reacts to Drake’s Viral Clapback at Troll Who Made Ghostwriting Joke About Son

The relentless sector of news dedicated to how public figures utilize social media received a boost, of sorts, with this week’s flurry of attention surrounding the Instagram activity of Drake. Specifically, he received such attention for having responded to a troll by invoking the perceived misery of their partner, whom he then proceeded to follow. 

Quick to react to these developments was beloved comedian and actor Martin Lawrence, who selected Twitter as his platform of choice when delivering some brief but impactful commentary on the situation. 

Sharing a screenshot of the truly Drake-ian moment in question on Wednesday, Lawrence pointed out to his 263,000 followers that such issues can be avoided by people (in this case, the troll) choosing instead to not start a problem which begs for a response.

“Drake on his Def Comedy Jam game,” Lawrence said in a since-deleted tweet in reference to the revered HBO series which became integral in the careers of a number of comedians.

As previously reported, this all started with a harmless Drake comment left on a post about supportive fathers from @lethalshooter. “Ya son prolly play with ghost writers,” the widely publicized trolling remark stated, spurring one hell of a shut-it-down response from Drake.

“I just followed your girl cause she’s prob miserable and needs some excitement in her life,” he said to immediate proverbial applause of the screenshot-and-share variety.

Lawrence, of course, isn’t the only person to have joined in on the post-comment Drake praise. As seen in the comments of the Complex IG post below, the move has received a positive response from Royce da 5’9, Steve Stoute, Peter Rosenberg, and others.

“I fully endorse this behavior,” Stoute said, for example. “Haters need to be checked at the door.”

Sadly, mentioned only once throughout this mini-debacle was the sustaining impact of Drake’s “Summer Games” track.
