Drake shared a post reflecting on the beginnings of his career, and it caught the attention of billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.
Drake offered a glimpse of his past on Instagram with a photo taken in front of his first apartment in Toronto. He contrasted the pic with another slide that showed Bezos when he first launched Amazon in the ’90s.
“Gotta start somewhere,” the 35-year-old wrote alongside the images.
The post caught the attention of Bezos, who commented with a reference to Drizzy’s Nothing Was the Same single.
“Started from the bottom now we’re here,” wrote Bezos, which received a surprised response from Drake.
“Holyyy Jeff knows about the man dem nobody can chat to me today!!!” wrote Drake. “Big Bezos in the comments.”
Despite scoring both a No. 1 album and song with the release of the album, he also saw his track “Texts Go Green” experience the biggest single-week drop on the Billboard Hot 100 in history. The song shares the honor with Kendrick Lamar’s “We Cry Together,” which debuted at No. 16 and dipped to No. 97.
